Vulcanised rubber coated cable used for lamp-holder fixed under wooden staircase.
Faults identified:
- No circuit protective conductor (earth) - A,
- Outer insulation stripped back to outside of enclosure (lamp holder base) - B,
- Unprotected loose connector within enclosure - C,
- Insulation disintegrating through old-age (would fail insulation resistence testing) - D,
- Live and Neutral wires on right-side have started to fuse together through overheating - E.
