Electrical Reports & Certificates

We have designed our own Electrical Inspection & Testing forms,
based upon those provided in Appendix 6 of BS 7671 : 2001 (2004).

A sample of each one is shown below together with their associated notes, if any.

VECR - Visual Electrical Condition Report
and the associated Information and Notes

When an Electrical Report is requested by a homeowner or by those in the process of purchasing a property, a visual only survey is carried out to assess the extent of any issues without significant costs.

PEIR - Periodic Electrical Inspection Report
and the associated Information and Notes

When an Electrical Inspection is requested by a homeowner or by those in the process of purchasing a property, an extensive inspection and test is carried out to assess the extent of any issues and to asign priorities for resolution.

MEIC - Minor Electrical Installation Certificate
and the associated Information and Notes

When a minor alteration is made or a piece of equipment is changed by us, we will carry out a limited Electrical Inspection to verify that the altered circuit is safe to use.

SEIC - Short Form Electrical Installation Certificate
and the associated Information and Notes

When a significant addition/alteration is made to an installation by us, we will carry out a full Electrical Inspection to verify that the installation is safe to use.

SINS - Schedule of Inspections

Additional information about the overall testing strategy for Periodic Inspections and Electrical Certificates is shown on this form.

SCID - Schedule of Circuits and Distribution.

Details of all the circuits and distribution boards involved are recorded on this form.

STES - Schedule of Circuit Test Results.

Details of all test results are recorded on this form. They correspond to the SCID form

EDAN - Electrical Danger Notification
and the associated Information and Notes

When a visit is made to an electrical installation for whatever reason, a qualified electrician may come across a situation that is dangerous and life-threatening. In these circumstances and usually after a check is made with NICEIC to discuss the danger, an Electrical Danger Notification will be issued to the home or business owner immediately with the recommended immediate action to be taken to prevent death or injury.
